Evaluasi Potensi Toksisitas Seluler Ekstrak Daun Benger (Lagerstroemia ovalifolia Teijsm. & Binn) menggunakan Uji Microtetrazolium (MTT) pada Kultur Sel RAW 264.7
Abstract
Tanaman Daun Benger (Lagerstroemia ovalifolia Teijsm. & Binn) merupakan salah satu tanaman lokal yang secara empiris digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional. Namun saat ini belum tersedia data ilmiah yang memadai terkait aspek keamanannya, sehingga pemanfaatan lebih lanjut dalam pengembangan obat herbal masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis profil keamanan ekstrak etanol 70% daun benger secara in vitro sebagai dasar pengembangan produk herbal. Ekstrak benger diperoleh melalui esktraksi dengan metode perkolasi dan diuji toksisitas selulernya menggunakan metode MTT assay pada kultur sel RAW 264.7. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa rentan konsentrasi 25-100 µg/mL. Ekstrak daun benger tidak menunjukkan efek toksisitas terhadap sel RAW 264.7, sedangkan pada konsentrasi lebih tinggi (hingga 200 µg/mL) mulai menunjukkan kategori toksisitas sedang. Studi ini memberikan informasi awal menggenai profil keamanan ekstrak daun Benger, dan dapat menjadi landasan penelitian selanjutnya terkait pengembangan obat herbal yang lebih aman dan efektif.
