Abstract


Abstract: Folklore is an oral story that is passed down from mouth to mouth from generation to generation. In general, folklore tells about an incident in a place or area. Rich in noble values, traditional, and generally, no one knows who the author is. Popular folklore includes Malin Kundang, Bawang Merah Bawang Putih, Timun Mas, Keong Mas, and others. The very rapid technological progress is also the reason why folk tales are starting to be forgotten. With smartphones, children's interest in reading is reduced because children view more digital content and play online games. In general, children at the age of 6-12 years have entered elementary school, and children between the ages of 6-12 years are characterized by rapid intelligence development. To get children interested in reading again, a pop-up book was created entitled "The Design of Pop-Up Book Legend Of Crying Stone" as an effort to increase the attractiveness of the younger generation to folklore. Thus, traditional noble values can be introduced from generation to generation.
